Submission to courts

The Special Rapporteur is submitting amicus briefs to courts dealing with various mandate-related issues. These briefs clarify position on specific legal issues and in turn assist courts in making an informed decision.

Amicus brief submitted by the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Development (Surya Deva) to the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights in the matter of a request by the Pan African Lawyers Union for an Advisory Opinion on the obligation of States with respect to the climate crisis.
